Eureka Genomics Corporation is a rapidly expanding biotechnology company that is focused on providing the very best in Next Generation Sequencing (high throughput sequencing) and advanced analysis of sequence genomic data. Eureka Genomics' Houston, TX based Bioinformatics department is expanding its operations and is seeking to fill 1 full-time position for a highly skilled and motivated Bioinformatics Technician to help us with execution of our proprietary Next Generation Sequencing data analysis software. This is a chance to participate in projects that impact both the company and state-of-the-art developments in genomic sequence analysis. The position requires at least one year of academic or industrial experience of programming in C/C++. The ability to work in Unix environments is required. Experience working with scripting languages, such as C Shell, Perl, or python is highly desirable. The person hired will work with other members of our research and service provider teams.

Education/Experience:

Analytical Skills, C, C++, experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows environments. A Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics or a related science is required.

Required Qualifications

• At least a BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Bioinformatics or a related field (MS is a plus)
• At least 2 years experience working in Unix/Linux environment (school experience OK)
• At least one year post -bachelor experience of programming in C/C++
• Basic understanding of biology: at least 1 university level course in biology/molecular biology. Transcript with the appropriate course clearly identified should be provided in the application.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in Genomics and Bioinformatics
• Statistics background
• Experience in utility programming (C Shell, Perl, python, JAVA, and other languages)
