Gene Annotation
Eureka Genomics provides detailed gene annotation services to identify structural and functional elements of whole and partial genome sequences. Gene annotation can be performed on contigs assembled from sequences from any species and sample type including human mRNA. The annotation process includes extensive BLAST searches for gene prediction (ORFs) and searches against protein sequence databases for gene function prediction. The sequences to be submitted for annotation can be generated using Eureka Genomics' Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Services. Unassembled sequence data generated elsewhere using Illumina's Genome Analyzer is accepted. Unassembled sequences generated on Roche 454 and ABI SOLiD instruments may also be considered; please contact Eureka Genomics to discuss options.
The deliverables of Eureka Genomics' Standard Annotation Service are three excel spreadsheets. Click on each table heading to see an example of the deliverables.

In some organisms, completeness of annotation depends on extent of homology information in public databases.
